"Elephant In The Congo"

por Birdie’s Playhouse

English

I’m just an elephant in the Congo / Living on the savannah in Africa (repeat)

VERSE 1
My enemies are scared of me ’cuz I’m so heavy
I have to eat and drink a ton to stay healthy
I’m always on the move, looking for food
I smell and hear well, my sight’s not so good

CHORUS
I’m just an elephant in the Congo / Living on the savannah in Africa
My voice is loud, my trunk is long-o / Living on the savannah in Africa
I’m just an elephant in the Congo / Living on the savannah in Africa

VERSE 2
There was a time when I didn’t have to worry
The land was plenty, there was no war or fury
Then the humans started making a fuss
Now all they want is my precious tusk

BRIDGE
Please do not buy any ivory. If you do they will keep after me
All I wanna do is eat grass and leaves. We all have to find a way to make peace

CHORUS
I’m just an elephant in the Congo / Living on the savannah in Africa
My voice is loud, my trunk is long-o / Living on the savannah in Africa
I’m just an elephant in the Congo / Living on the savannah in Africa

VERSE 3
I am the largest land mammal in the Congo
I hope that many people sing my song-o,
My land is getting smaller, that’s so wrong-o
All I want to do is play my bongo
